First Puzzle

Dexter got to check out the inside of a stretch limo on vacation. He looks right at home.
Dexter went to a great children’s local aquapark in St. Charles, IL while we were on our recent trip.
Here he is looking too cool, just lounging around the pool.
Dexter traveled this July 4th weekend from Boston to Chicago on his first plane flight. Although we weren’t opposed to taking him somewhere earlier, this was the first good excuse, a family reunion in the mid-west.
A benefit of waiting until he was over two for the trip was that he really could get into it. We watched videos of kids on planes before we left and talked all about the process.
Here is Dexter showing up at the Terminal at Logan airport

Here he is toting his suitcase around the airport

He buckled himself right in, didn’t even need to see the safety demonstration to figure out his seatbelt!

Once settled, he enjoyed quietly watching his movies with his headphones acquired especially for the trip.

When he got bored, he spent time stacking cups, I’m sure the passengers around us were delighted.
Overall he was such a trooper, we were very proud of him! He survived a long and exciting day without missing a beat.
Dexter has been enjoying his first pair of headphones. He’s practicing for our plane ride next weekend!

Now that the weather is really getting warm, Dexter is enjoying summertime on the deck. Here are 3 quick videos from today’s outdoor adventures.
So maybe we were a bit overzealous with the chores at two-months-old.
But now at two-years-old, we definitely are witnessing unassisted chores. This was a real bag of trash (happened to be filled mostly with unrecycleable packing styrofoam) that Dexter grabbed on trash morning and took down the driveway.
And here he is helping Mommy repot a plant, sporting his awesome gardening gloves.
We took Dexter to the Aleppo Shriners Circus this weekend. Not bad for a local circus, they had trapeze aerialists, gymnasts, clowns, jugglers, horses, dancing bears, motorcycle stunts, and plenty of circus snacks.
Dexter’s favorite parts were the elephant (he was both fascinated and a bit afraid), and munching on popcorn while watching the show. Mom and Dad spent more time watching Dexter watch the show than we did watching it ourselves. To see the world through a child’s eyes!

Dad was skeptical, but mom guessed Dexter would be into hunting for eggs on Easter morning, and she was right as usual! This is a short clip of a 10-minute whole-house easter-egg hunt. And beyond the event itself, Dexter talked about eggs all day long.
Dexter learns to rescue foam animals from the clutches of a temperamental Mexican Hat salsa bowl.
